The ADAC HEMS Academy
ADAC HEMS Academy is the world’s first integrated training centre
for helicopter pilots, emergency doctors and rescue paramedics in
air rescue services. We are the first to provide each of these three
professions
with a specifically matched training programme.
The HEMS Academy took up operations in Sankt Augustin near Cologne-Bonn
Airport in July 2009. Consisting of a simulator hall, training and
briefing rooms, the training centre is equipped with state-of-the-art
media technology
and provides opportunities for both individual (computer-based) and
group training.
The Academy uses a well-equipped medical simulator– Christoph
Sim® – for training doctors and rescue paramedics.
A clinical shock room simulator rounds off the medical training
equipment.
Two full-flight EC 135 and EC
145 simulators are available for
pilot training (FFS Level A according to JAR-FSTD H), which can
be used
after official qualification at the beginning of 2010.
